Quarantined students in need of help with assignments may connect with a tutor at the school 3:00 to 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. Zoom links for tutors may be found on the student’s Google Classroom.
Guidelines:
- Join the Zoom early so teachers have enough time to help you.
- If a teacher is with another student, they may message you to wait a few minutes, ask you to join at a later time, or work with multiple students at a time.
- If there is a day a teacher is unavailable, the sheet will say “Unavailable” and the date, next to the teacher’s name - log in the next day for help.
If your home does not have internet access (to connect with Google Classroom), a Kajeet Smartspot may be available through the school. If the device does not enable connectivity, please contact the school.

In accordance with Federal mandate, all students and staff are required to wear masks while riding a school bus.
- In the morning for drop-off, traffic is to follow one way only as parents are asked to turn off of 6th Street onto Caroline Street. Students are dropped off on Caroline Street (on the side of the school) where there is a crosswalk and a crossing guard. Once students are dropped off at the cross walk, drivers are to follow Caroline St. and then make a left onto Lockerman Street to exit the area. Please do not drop your child off earlier than 7:15am. Students who are dropped off are to report to the cafeteria until they are dismissed for class at 7:30am. If you do not see our crossing guard, please drop off at the front door.
- For the afternoon pick-up, parents are asked to enter onto Lockerman Street and pick up your child in front of the school. Cars should then exit onto Caroline Street (the reverse of the morning traffic pattern). PLEASE stay behind the buses.
All CCPS Students receive Free Breakfast during Homeroom.
- Each grade is divided into 2 lunch shifts to limit numbers in the cafeteria.
- All lunches are FREE this year to ALL students; however, if students are Free and Reduced, paperwork must still be completed to be eligible for future benefits.
- The cafeteria will always have school information posted on our screen for students as well.
LMS students will start the year WITHOUT the use of lockers. Students may carry their laptop and materials in their backpacks. We will focus the beginning of the year on getting back into school and limiting the traffic in hallways. Locker use will continue to be discussed throughout the year.
- Cell phones are to be put away and off during instructional time. However, they may have opportunities to use them during class for a teacher-led activity.
- Cell phones are allowed in the cafeteria during lunch time for appropriate use (including listening to music with headphones).

Enrolling a new student and information about attendance
There are several afterschool opportunities at LMS. There are numerous clubs offered each year such as art, games, soccer, floor hockey, volleyball, kindness club etc… When a club is ready to start, it will be announced on the morning announcements and interested students can get a permission slip to participate.
Gym uniforms are optional but are available for purchase through your PE teacher. Students can also bring a change of clothing if they choose. Students are not required to change for gym class. However, please be sure your child is wearing appropriate attire for gym class if they choose not to change.
If a problem arises at school as a result of a child misusing social media, the situation will be discussed with the students involved and often their parents if warranted. Consequences may follow depending on the situation and what the interaction has been between the students involved while at school. We strongly encourage parents to monitor all social media sites that their child may frequent. If disruption to the school environment occurs, progressive disciplinary action will be taken.
