Student Car Rider Procedures
As a school with no additional parking or alternative access routes, we have explored many options over the years to improve traffic flow. After careful consideration, it was determined that the current procedure is the safest and most efficient approach for both drop-off and pick-up. We know it can be complicated at first, and appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to prioritize the safety of our students, families, and staff.
Morning Drop Off - 7:15-7:30 am (map on the left)
Cars should not get in the bus lane. The bus lane begins on High Street and turns right onto Lockerman Street.
Cars enter from the opposite direction - N. 6th Street to Caroline Street and turn left onto Lockerman Street.
Cars stop to drop off students parallel to the crosswalk and continue out through Lockerman Street.
Arrival after crossing guard is off duty at 7:30 - Pull into the circle for students to exit the car.
Afternoon Pick Up - After buses leave, approx. 2:37pm (map on the right)
NO cars enter from Caroline Street.
Cars enter from Gay Street, turn right onto N. 6th Street, turn right onto High Street and left onto Lockerman.
The car line waits, beginning at the corner of High Street and Lockerman (opposite the bus line), until all buses are gone. Do not enter the bus lane or get between buses.
Students are picked up at the corner of Lockerman & Caroline Streets. This is to keep the car line moving efficiently and safely.
