Greetings 8th grade families,

4th quarter has arrived and there is much on the horizon for our 8th grade students! Please review the following important dates and information about upcoming events.

May 4th-7th: State Social Studies Assessment
May 11th- 14th: MCAP Math/Algebra I (state assessment given each morning in an extended homeroom; please make sure your child arrives to school on time)
June 5th: Field Day
June 10th: 8th Grade Incentive Field Trip to Washington D.C.
(permission slips will be coming home soon)
June 12th: 8th Grade Formal Dance
June 16th 12:30pm: 8th Grade Awards (parents/guardians of students receiving awards will be emailed an invitation by 6/1 but all are welcome to join us for the awards and ice cream social after)
June 17th: Last Day for Students (half day)


In case you missed it - from the PTA:
As we are approaching the end of middle school for our students, we are celebrating with a commemorative class T-shirt. The purchase of the T-shirt will help support the 8th Grade Formal activities.

The T-shirt cost is $20. Additionally, businesses or other individuals can make extra donations towards the class and or donations towards other students. We are hoping to ensure every student is able to receive a T-shirt. This cost will help support the 8th Grade Formal events. This includes the DJ, food, decorations and photo booth.

Make checks payable to Lockerman Middle PTA with this letter your 8th graders name. Let’s give our 8th Graders a night to remember and the best send off into high school! Thank you for your support. Orders must be submitted by April 30th.

Today was all about connection 🧡 Our students and staff took time out of the usual routine for a special relationship building day centered around shared interests. From sports and art to music, gaming, and everything in between, it was amazing to see conversations spark and connections grow beyond the classroom. NJHS students teamed up with the Crocheting Club to bring a little joy to patients at Johns Hopkins! Ms Russum will be personally delivering these to the hospital tomorrow. Way to go Wildcats! #CarolineFamily #WildcatPRIDE

Calendar Reminder: April 1 - full day for students; April 2 - half day for students; April 3-6 all schools and offices closed

We hope to see you tonight! Students can also use 15 PRIDE stamps to enter. Refreshments will be available for purchase as well.

Our NJHS students raised over $3,000 for the Maryland Special Olympics. What an incredible achievement! While the Polar Plunge was unfortunately canceled due to the ice storm, their hard work still deserved to be celebrated. A big thank you to Bullocks for generously hosting our students with a well-earned ice cream treat in honor of their efforts! 🍦👏 #WildcatPRIDE #CarolineFamily
